This detailed book about Soul Retreival was written by Sandra Ingerman while she was a practicing therapist. It is also a good reference for Shamanic Journeying in general, offering many examples of Journey experiences. In this book, Sandra Ingerman compares shamanic work with modern psychological concepts, which helps those new to shamanism better grasp the dynamics of this work.

These books by Tom Brown are all highly recommended, especially for those wishing to explore the shamanic pathways of nature.

Mutant Message Down Under by Marlo Morgan. 

Describes an American woman’s experience with Australian Aboriginals. Includes insight and teachings from classic Aboriginal wisdom.

The Wind is My Mother by Bear Heart. 

An autobiography of Bear Heart, a Native American shaman. He kindly shares not only his personal path of accepting the shaman's way, but also much Native American wisdom as well. 

Fools Crow: Wisdom and Power by Thomas E. Mails

The "bible" of Shamanic Wisdom and Medicine teachings by the Sioux holy man, Frank Fools Crow. Be sure to get the book with "Wisdom and Power" as a subtitle, although the biography book without the subtitle is also interesting.

Animal Speak. by Ted Andrews

Suggestions for better understanding of the medicine and spiritual significance of many creatures. A good reference to better recognize omens and messages in nature. 

Medicine Cards    Sacred Path Cards   by Jamie Sams 

These are wonderful teaching tools that approximate the daily learning experienced by those living with nature and ceremony.  For personal wisdom, guidance, and growth.
